PitON frequency converter (FC) – used to control the speed and torque of an asynchronous motor. An induction motor (IM), in turn, can drive mechanisms such as a fan, pump or conveyor.
Other designations of frequency converters: frequency drive (FC), AC drive, variable frequency drive (VFD), inverters, etc.
Frequency converters allow high-quality control of the technological process, reduce energy costs, increase reliability and save equipment life.
About 60% of electrical energy in industry is consumed by asynchronous electric motors with a squirrel-cage rotor. Less than 20% of them are equipped with an inverter.
Frequency converters are used in almost all industries:
- HVAC (HVAC – Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning):
- Condenser unit fans
- Refrigeration compressor
- Refrigeration compressor
- Supply and exhaust fans, etc.
-
Water supply, water treatment, sanitation (W&WW)
-
Water intake and lift pumps
-
Distribution and transfer pumps, dosing
-
Sludge pumps and submersible pumps
-
Metallurgy
-
Cranes
-
Rolling mills (drives of main stands and auxiliary equipment)
smoke exhausters -
Compressors, etc.
